Lesson structure
This will be a one-time, one hour, group wheel throwing crash course, led by Four Circle Studio’s owner Kearin Cook. There will be availability for nine participants each hour. There will be a short 10-15 minute demo to get everyone acquainted with the basics of using the pottery wheel, followed by open ended making time on the wheel with guidance from your instructors. This session will be totally beginner friendly, open to all skill levels!
Please arrive at least 5-10 minutes early to take your seat as we will start each lesson promptly at your start time!
Everyone can make any piece of their choosing on the wheel, then select one favorite piece to keep. You can choose one out of our 36 glaze color options, then leave your piece at the studio for us to fire and glaze for you. Finished pieces will be ready to pick up at the beginning of January. Due to the unpredictable nature of ceramics and kiln firing we cannot provide an exact pickup date, but everyone will be notified via email when pieces are ready for pickup.
Before you go
Be prepared to tie back long hair and please do not wear loose or billowy clothing. High heels and short dresses or skirts are also not recommended! You’ll also want to remove any jewelry on your hands and arms and take into consideration that throwing on the wheel will be very difficult with long fingernails!
Location
This studio is located within Asch Building at 825 Studewood st, Houston TX.
