Class Structure

All classes are 2.5 hours long. Groups of twelve or more will have two instructors present to ensure that every person is comfortable and confident during the making process. We recommend arriving 10-15 mins early to allow time for everyone to settle in before your class begins. Your instructor will start with a short introduction to the art of hand building with clay, including a demonstration of the building techniques required to make your chosen project. After this demonstration you will have the rest of the class time to make your piece! Your instructor(s) will be present to guide and answer any questions you may have during the making process. Underglazes will be available so you can paint/decorate your piece after you are finished with the construction. At the conclusion of your class, your pieces will be left with us to be fired in the kiln and sealed with a food safe glaze. This process will take 3-4 weeks depending on the size of your class. Please keep this in mind if you are creating a time sensitive project in your class!

Your instructor will be Heather Wunsch. Heather received her BFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University in Boston with a focus in ceramics and hand building. She has recently moved back to her hometown of Houston to continue practicing and teaching ceramics.
